Firefighters Attend Fatal House Fire in Leyland

At 20:23 on Sunday evening, Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service was called out to a house fire on Leyland Lane, Leyland. Three fire engines from Penwortham, Leyland and Bamber Bridge arrived at the scene within minutes of the call and were met with smoke issuing from the terraced property.

Six firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property to carry out a search and rescue as there were reports that there was somebody still trapped.

Unfortunately, firefighters could not save the person trapped in the house and an investigation into the cause of the fire will begin on Monday morning with the help of Lancashire Constabulary and forensic scientists. At this moment in time, nothing is known about how this fire started.
