Scale 5 £20,661 to £22,658
1 x Temporary until May 2018 (covering maternity leave) – Central Area, based at Preston Fire Station, Blackpool Road, Preston
1 x Permanent – Eastern Area, based at Blackburn Fire Station, Byrom Street, Blackburn
36.25 hours per week – Monday - Friday. Flexitime working arrangements.
LFRS is currently recruiting the above posts of Community Safety Advisor; the role of the post holder will be to help make Lancashire a safer community through promoting and advising on community fire safety and the wider determinants of health and well-being.
Applicants will be required to demonstrate an ability to support and communicate with vulnerable people living in the community, plus the ability to undertake a range of practical activities including the fitting of fire alarms using basic hand power tools. It is also essential that applicants have a problem solving approach to completing tasks and can work on their own initiative. Community Safety Advisors deliver training packages to groups of people, so applicants must have the ability to present information to small groups.
A driving licence and the availability of a suitable vehicle for business use are also essential.
The closing date is 1200 noon, Wednesday 26 July 2017 with the interviews being held on Thursday 17 August 2017. The interview process will involve a short presentation.
