36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Operating out of the Fleet and Engineering Services Department at Service Headquarters, Garstang Road, Fulwood, Preston, the role of Hydrant Technician is to provide a range of support relating to the inspection and testing of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service hydrants.
You will have a sound knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations with good manual dexterity and communication skills. The ability to understand plans and use navigational instruments is essential, as is the ability to follow instruction and work without direct supervision, in addition to having a good understanding of I.T. skills. You must be sufficiently mobile to undertake hydrant testing, have a current driving licence and be able to demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity.
A current 'Streetworks' qualification is desirable, although training will be given to achieve Levels 5 and 6 in 'Signing, Lighting and Guarding'.
