Starting Salary £15,507

36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexitime working arrangements.


An opportunity has arisen for a Stores Assistant in the Procurement Department, based at Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters in Fulwood, Preston.  The role of the Stores Assistant is to contribute to the work of the Service by undertaking a range of support services within the Stores Department.


You will have knowledge of Health and Safety requirements relating to the stores function, be customer focused and have excellent numeracy and accuracy skills.  With excellent communication skills, you will have the ability to manage and prioritise your workload and work as part of a small team.  You will hold a current clean driving licence, and have the ability to demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity. Experience of using computerised stock management systems and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office would be an advantage; as would possession of a current fork lift truck licence.


The closing date is 1200 noon, 22 July 2016 with the interviews due to be held on 15 and 16 August 2016.
