The Lancashire Combined Fire Authority (CFA) is responsible for providing an effective and efficient fire and rescue service for Lancashire that provides maximum value for money. It is legally required to enforce fire safety legislation and to reduce the risk of fire causing death, serious injury and property related losses to the community. It must also make provision for rescuing people in the event of road traffic collisions.
Committee meetings have members from each political group in line with the party's share of Authority seats and can also be observed by the public.
A copy of the Authority's Constitutional, Procedural and Contractual Standing Orders is available here.
