Lancashire Combined Fire Authority Members do not have a salary for the work they carry out for the people of Lancashire.
However, the Combined Fire Authority does make payments to Councillors in accordance with an Allowance Scheme approved by the Authority. This is under the provisions of the Local Authorities (Members’ Allowances) (England) Regulations 2003. For more information about the Members’ Allowance Scheme click here.
In summary, each Councillor receives a basic allowance and travel and subsistence allowances are payable where expenditure has necessarily been incurred in the performance of an approved duty. Additional allowances (special responsibility allowances) are paid to group leaders, committee chairs and vice-chairs to reflect their special responsibilities.
