The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) provides the public with a general right of access to information recorded and held by public authorities.
Our publication scheme and this website may provide you with the information you require, so please check this first.
How to make a request for information under FOIA
To be valid under FOIA the request must:
• be made in writing by letter, email or fax;
• have a full contact name and return address;
• clearly and legibly describe what information is required;
• contain details of the format you would like the information to be sent to you.
You can make your request by post to:
Data Protection and Freedom of Information Officer
Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service
Operational Risk Management Department
Headquarters
Garstang Road
Fulwood
Preston
PR2 3RD
By telephone 01772 866903
By email: informationmanagement@lancsfirerescue.org.uk
We will respond to FOIA requests within 20 working days of receiving the request. If we are unable to do this we will contact you to explain why there is a delay and to let you know when you can expect a response.
If you are requesting details of information that we may hold about yourself (your personal data) you will need to make a Data Subject Access Request

If you have recently made an FOI request and you are unhappy with the information that you have received, you may wish to make an appeal or request a review of our decision. If you wish to do this, you should write to the Information Management Department at LFRS Headquarters or by email to informationmanagement@lancsfirerescue.org.uk
If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, The ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.
