Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service purchases a large range of goods, works and Services to enable it to deliver an effective service to the people of Lancashire .

The aim of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service is to continuously improve its procurement activities in order to:

  • Encourage the local business community to bid for work
  • Address the need for sustainability, Equality and Diversity in Procurement processes
  • Encourage the local business community to bid for work
  • Contribute to the achievement of Lancashire Fire and Rescue Services objectives

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Procurement aim to assist both prospective and established suppliers when tendering for Goods, Works and Services by providing an overview of the Authority’s Procurement Policies / Procedures / Information.

 

The Head of Procurement has the responsibility for overseeing all procurement activity on behalf of the Authority and to provide the necessary framework to ensure a professional procurement service is adopted and integrated within Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service.

  

The section has professional qualified staff with a depth of both public and private sector experience whose key roles are to:

  • Facilitate the tender process
  • Identify, develop and implement corporate procurement systems and procedures
  • Provide professional procurement guidance and support

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service have worked in collaboration with Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service for several years in order to achieve best purchasing practices and value for money.  We also work with the North West Region and other partners as appropriate.

It is estimated that Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service spends £13m each year on procuring goods and services from third parties.

We are always looking for suppliers who can assist us in providing an improved service to the people we serve.

The rules and regulations that govern the Lancashire Combine Fire Authority's procurement activity are those determined by European, UK law and those set out in the Lancashire Combined Fire Authority Contract Standing Orders
