May 2008

Hello everyone, welcome back to my second doggy blog!

I have had another very busy few weeks. Kirt, my trainer, has been keeping me on my paws; we are going to the park everyday at the moment to play hide and seek. I am getting quite good at it now and I have to give Kirt a longer time to get away and hide. Although, he always seems to be hiding in a box and wearing a camouflaged poncho!!!

I have started to meet a few of Kirt’s work colleagues this month and even though I was a little nervous at first, I am getting to feel more comfortable around them and I have even started talking to some of them! Kirt says that it if I want to become a great search and rescue dog, it is important for me to learn to bark clearly and strongly.

I have spent a lot of time this month with my older sister Holly, I have been watching her train and we even went to a proper incident the other day, which was very exciting. Thankfully no one was seriously injured and Holly was not needed but it was a good experience for me being at the scene of a fire. Whenever I watch Holly in action, I get very impatient and jealous; I can not wait to do the things she can do. Kirt tells me that it is good I have the passion and the attitude to learn, so I’ll continue to shout and bark loudly during her training!!

I am off to Islay , yes an island named after me, next month. Islay is an island off the west coast of Scotland and it will be the first time I have ever been on holiday. I am really looking forward to it and I hope to get lots of photographs whilst I am there. I will put them a couple of them on the internet next month to show you.

I’m off now, Kirt wants to play hide and seek again.

 Bye
