September 2008
Hello everyone. I hope you have had a great summer holiday, even if the weather has been terrible.
Since my last blog in July, the vet has told me that I have a food allergy and that I have to eat really expensive food. The food is actually really tasty and since I have started to eat this food I have not been ill.
Last week, I was at a national training conference in Leicestershire, where I met fellow colleagues from search and rescue teams around the country. I really enjoyed mixing with other dogs and I made quite a few friends too. On the course, I was being taught the basic search and rescue skills again and it was nice to receive feedback on my performances.
Over the next few weeks, my training will start to become longer and more intense to ensure that I have the attention and discipline to keep searching. I will be doing the same exercises as before, such as playing hide and seek with Kirt, however, Kirt will be making it much harder for me and making the game last for around 45 minutes. This will be done twice a day, once in the morning and once in the afternoon.
It is my first birthday on 23rd September, so I am really looking forward to having a party and receiving lots of nice presents! I will let you know in my next blog what I get and what I did for my birthday.
Bye
