Retained VacanciesDo you have the qualities we are looking for? Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are always looking for members of our community who can fulfil the demanding role of firefighter on the Retained Duty System. In most circumstances a firefighter on the Retained Duty System has another job or career, and provides on call cover, for the Fire Service either from home, or in some circumstances from their place of work. In contrast, a whole time firefighter works on a full time basis at a station. We have Retained Duty System personnel based at the following stations: Morecambe, Bolton le Sands, Carnforth, Silverdale, Hornby, Garstang, Fleetwood, Preesall, Bamber Bridge, Ormskirk, Chorley, Skelmersdale, Tarleton, Longridge, Hyndburn, Great Harwood, Darwen, Clitheroe, Wesham, Lytham, St Annes, Bacup, Rawtenstall, Haslingden, Padiham, Barnoldswick, Nelson, Earby and Colne.
