Big Drink Debate
On Monday 9th June, Fire and Rescue Service Staff from across the North West are encouraged to have their say and join in the Big Drink Debate on-line.
The North West Big Drink Debate launched on 12th May and is the largest regional survey of its kind. It is the first step in a regional level effort to find effective ways of promoting safer and more social drinking in our region, which currently rates ninth out of nine English regions for harmful and hazardous drinking.
Our Life, an organisation setup by NHS North West, the region’s strategic health authority, has partnered with the Government Office North West to create this debate. Our Life’s mission is to create a regional movement for social change that achieves a public motivated and able to protect its own health, and an environment that supports health lifestyle choices.
The aim of the questionnaire is to uncover drinking consumption levels and attitudes, understand what awareness the public currently have of alcohol issues, better understand behaviours in relation to when and where people buy and drink alcohol, and what the current appetite is for reducing alcohol consumption.
The debate has been really successful since it was launched nearly a month ago and it is hoped it will continue to capture the views of as many of the North West residents as possible, until it finishes on 17th August. So go on, join in the debate on 9th June – http://www.bigdrinkdebate.com/
