Taking Medicine
Some medicines can make you sleepy which means you may sleep through your smoke alarm or do things that can put you at more risk of fire.
- Ask your doctor if your medicine will make you sleepy.
- Take your medicine after you have finished cooking.
- Never leave cooking unattended.
- Make sure all cigarettes are properly put out before you go to sleep.
- Take old or unused medicines back to the chemist or doctors to get rid of them safely and without harming the environment.
- Ask your chemist for help in understanding what your medicine is for and how to take it.
If you feel ill and need help call NHS Direct 0845 4647.
