TEMPORARY SOFTWARE SUPPORT TECHNICIAN (18 MONTH CONTRACT)
Salary £17,161 – £19,126 per annum
36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexitime working arrangements.
Based at Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters,Garstang Road, Fulwood,Preston, the role of the System Support Technician is to provide first line response to end user requirements and queries regarding any of the Service’s internally developed software or web based solutions.
You will have a high degree of computer literacy and knowledge of client/server and general web based principles (e.g. web based interfaces, data driven websites) with the ability to quickly learn and absorb new technologies, as the role will evolve to cover support and management of the Service’s web farm, together with application and web development. As such, knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and web base platforms would be a distinct advantage, as would an understanding of RDBMS principles and knowledge/experience of Microsoft SQL.
This an exciting role that will provide an opportunity for an individual with strong commercial ICT knowledge to move into the discipline of application & web development and to subsequently contribute to the Service’s internal development initiative.
