TEMPORARY GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (GIS) OFFICER (6 MONTHS)
Salary £22,221 – £23,708 (subject to job evaluation)
36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, flexitime working arrangements.
The role of the Geographic Information Systems Officer is to support the delivery of the Information Management to Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service, in making Geographical Information available in multiple formats through different tools.
You will have an appropriate degree in a relevant subject or equivalent professional qualification, evidence of key achievements in a similar GIS role, proven knowledge of the Public Sector Mapping Services agreement and knowledge of geographical information standards. Advanced skill in the use and implementation of Cadcorp GI,S or similar, and in Microsoft Office package is essential as are analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively at both technical and non-technical levels. You will need experience in the use and maintenance of Ordnance Survey data, producing quality documentation in support of data quality, standards and training. Also essential within this role is the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as part of a team, and to demonstrate a commitment to equality and diversity.
