Four fire engines from Hornby, Bolton-le-Sands, Carnforth and one from Cumbria were called to a fire involving a barn Newton Road, Newton. Firefighters used two jets and one hose reel to bring the fire under control. Three fire engines remain at the scene whilst firefighters dampen down. No injuries have been reported.

Firefighters have now left the scene but the cause of the fire is continuing.
