At 18:32 two fire engines from Morecambe and Lancaster were mobilised to a large animal rescue off Lancaster Road in Overton. There was one horse stuck in a ditch with approximately four feet of water. Crews used their large animal rescue equipment and a triple extension ladder to rescue the animal. Firefighters were at the scene for one hour and twenty minutes.
