Fire crews from Lancaster and Silverdale were called to reports of a cow which had gotten stuck in a ditch approximately one metre deep with water. Two swift water rescue technicians entered the water and used animal strops and slings to rescue the cow from the ditch. The animal was safely rescued and left in the care of the owner and a vet. Firefighters were in attendance approximately 49 minutes.
