At 00:49 fire engines from Morecambe, Carnforth, Garstang, Fleetwood and Fulwood attended a five pump fire on Ghants Lane, Hambleton. The fire involved a barn approx. 30mx15m containing approximately 200 tonnes of hay well alight. Fire crews used three jets and two mechanical diggers to removed the hay from the barn and extinguish the fire.
As of 07:30 on 6 July one crew remained at the scene for watching duties.
