Two fire engines from Blackburn were called to help a boy who was stuck in mud up to his knees near Bolton Road, Blackburn at 08:57. Firefighters used a long board and a first aid kit to release the boy from the mud and he was later passed in to the care of paramedics. Firefighters were at the scene for 30 minutes.
