Three fire engines from Blackpool and South Shore attended a fire on Rydal Avenue in the early hours. Firefighters found a fire involving the lounge of a domestic property. One casualty had managed to get themselves out of the property and was treated by firefighters with oxygen. Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using two hose reels and a ventilation unit. The casualty was given a precautionary check by ambulance crews at the scene but they did not attend hospital.
