Building Fire in Lytham St Annes

Two fire Crews from St Annes and one crew from South Shore were called to reports of a fire at a building on North Promenade, Lytham St Annes. On arrival they found the fire involved a domestic property in a semi-semi-detatached block of flats. They found that the fire was spreading from a flat on the third floor to the second and increased the number of fire engines at the scene to 10 and two Aerial Ladder Platforms (ALPs). Four firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels and one jet to tackle the fire prior to the ALPs arriving. All residents were safely evacuated.

As of 02:15hrs – Firefighters are currently working to bring the fire under control. Any residents in the area that are affected by smoke are advised to close windows and doors as a precaution. Further updates to follow.

03:35hrs – Firefighters have sectorised the fire and are still working to bring the fire under control using two aerial ladder platforms. Crews wearing breathing apparatus are also being used to bring the fire under control. To help prevent the fire from spreading to the neighbouring property firefighters have partially removed roof tiles. Firefighting is still ongoing


06:00hrs – The number of fire engines at this incident has now been reduced to eight. Two ALPs are still being used to tackle the fire.
