Building Fire in Preston

Firefighters were called to reports of a fire involving a domestic property on Manor House Lane, Preston late on Friday (14th) evening. On arrival firefighters found the fire involved the end property of a terraced row of houses. The fire was also affecting the neighbouring property. Six firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two ventilation units to tackle the fire.  There were several casualties reported with five receiving precautionary checks for smoke inhalation from ambulance crews at the scene. Two casualties were transferred to hospital by ambulance crews. Firefighters from Penwortham, Fulwood, Bamber Bridge, Longridge and Preston were in attendance. Police were also in attendance at the incident and an investigation into the cause of the fire is now underway. Crews are currently still in attendance.

Update 09:50hrs 15th Feb – Firefighters have been at the scene overnight damping down. After an inspection this morning using a thermal imaging camera and triple extension ladder, firefighters are now leaving the scene.
