Two fire engines and crews, from Penwortham and Preston, were assigned to a car on fire at the roadside on Stocks Street, Preston. Firefighters used a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire, which they believe had been started deliberately. There were no casualties. Police were notified of the suspected arson.
