At 10:25 on 10th June, three fire engines from Rawtenstall, Bacup, and Hyndburn attended a chemical leak at a commercial property on Haslingden Road, Rawtenstall. An additional crew from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service was also in attendance. The incident involved a quantity of spilled lithium. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, a gas monitor, dry sand, and one hose reel to decontaminate the affected area. No injuries were reported. Crews remained in attendance for around one and a half hours.
