At 17:00 fire engines from Garstang, Preston and Fulwood plus the aerial ladder platform from Preston attended a fire involving the chimney of a three storey builing on The Avenue, Churchtown. Firefighters used on hose reel, a thermal imaging camera, nimbus nozzle, chimney rods and a triple extension ladder to extinguish the fire and were at the scene for over seven and a half hours.
