At 19:51 a fire engine from Chorley attended a chimney fire on Out Lane, Croston. The fire was in the chimney of a public house and all patrons were evacuated. Fire crews checked the first floor and attic and after extinguishing the fire from the inside used a ladder, harness (working at height) and chimney rods to extinguish the fire externally. Crews were at the scene for just over two hours.
