At 09:01 on the 30th July 2022, eight fire engines from Burnley, Colne, Clitheroe, Blackburn, Hyndburn, Nelson, Bacup and Rawtenstall along with the aerial ladder platform from Hyndburn and the drone team attended a commercial building fire on Yorkshire Street, Burnley. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels and a ventilation unit to bring the fire under control.
If you can see or smell smoke, please keep windows and door closed. Please avoid the area.
Update at 12:30: This incident has now been reduced to six fire engines along with the aerial ladder platform. Firefighters are continuing to monitor and extinguish hotspots within the building. The smoke has now dissipated.
The drone team are also in attendance. Please do not fly drones near this area, as you will be obstructing an emergency service from conducting their operations.
Whilst Electricity North West isolate the property, there may be temporary disruptions in the area to electricity supply in the surrounding areas.

Update at 15:00: This incident has now reduced to four fire engines and the aerial ladder platform. Firefighters are continuing to monitor, locate and extinguish any remaining hotspots. Crews currently remain at the scene and we continue to ask the public to avoid the area.
Update at 19:00: An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
The road closures which affected Plumbe Street, Church Street, Oxford Road and Yorkshire Street are no longer in place as all roads have been reopened.
