Four fire engines from Skelmersdale, Ormskirk and Wigan attended a fire involving a recycling compactor in the basement of a commercial premises on Southway in Skelmersdale. The building was evacuated and firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used two hose reels and one jet to extinguish the fire.
