This morning, Dave Russel was appointed as the Service’s new Deputy Chief Fire Officer with immediate effect.
Dave, who was previously Assistant Chief Fire Officer for over six years, will continue as the Service’s Director of Service Delivery.
Chief Fire Officer, Justin Johnston, says:
“I am delighted for Dave. He has shown not just at the interview but over several years that he will be a tremendous asset as our Deputy Chief Fire Officer. He has worked throughout the Service since joining Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service as a firefighter in 1991 and is well respected throughout the whole organisation.”
Chairman of Combined Fire Authority, County Councillor Frank de Molfetta added:
“Over the last few years, Dave’s leadership has really stood out and this was highlighted when he led the Service’s response to the Winter Hill fire last summer. I am really happy that he and Justin will continue to work together and I know that they will help make Lancashire safer.”
Area Manager Ben Norman has been appointed as Assistant Chief Fire Officer on a temporary basis.
