UPDATE 21:50: Firefighters remain at this incident damping down and checking there are no further hot spots of fire, using one hose reel and a thermal imaging camera. The fire involved a quantity of waste in a derelict building.

Four fire engines from Bamber Bridge, Leyland, Penwortham and Horwich are in attendance at a derelict building fire on Cowling Brow in Chorley. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus are using three jets to bring the fire under control.
Local residents should keep windows and doors closed to avoid any smoke.
