At 11:18 on 8 October 2023, four fire engines from Bolton-le-Sands, Morecambe and Carnforth attended a derelict building fire on Quay Road, Lancaster. The fire involved a waste pile inside the building. Crews used two breathing apparatus and two main jets to bring the incident under control and were at the scene for two hours and thirty minutes.
