At 02:43 on the 25th July 2022, four fire engines from Skelmersdale and Wigan attended a derelict building fire on Gillibrands Road, Skelmersdale. Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for one hour and thirty minutes.
