Fire crews from Blackburn and Hyndburn attended reports of a fire in a flat where it was believed there were people trapped. Two Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel and ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Two casualties were rescued from the property and were left in the care of ambulance crews at the scene as they were treated for smoke inhalation. Firefighters were at the scene approximately one hour.
