Three fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen were mobilised to Hilton Road in Darwen to respond to a domestic building fire.
The fire had affected the ground floor flat of a two-story residential building. Firefighters used breathing apparatus, one hose reel, one jet, cutting equipment, a thermal imaging camera, and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire.
During the incident, a person suffering from smoke inhalation received first aid from fire service personnel.
Crews remained at the scene for three hours.
