At 22:15 on 22 May, four fire engines from Blackpool, Bispham, and South Shore attended a domestic building fire on High Street, Elswick. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to extinguish the fire. One casualty received treatment at the scene before being placed in the care of North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) paramedics. Crews were in attendance for forty-five minutes.
