Crews from Preston, Penwortham and Tarleton were called to reports of a detached building fire on Gill Lane, Longton. It was unclear whether there were persons still in the building however crews quickly ascertained that there were no casualties involved. Firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Crews were at the scene approximately two and a half hours and an investigation into the fire is now underway.
