At 19:01 on 22 May, three fire engines from Lancaster, Morecambe, and Bolton-le-Sands attended a domestic building fire on Shaw Lane, Nether Kellet. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, a positive pressure ventilation unit, cutting equipment, and small tools to extinguish the fire. Two casualties received checks and were treated by crews at the scene. Firefighters were in attendance for approximately one and a quarter hours.
