At 18:22 two fire engines from Preston and Penwortham attended a fire in the kitchen of a domestic property on Croft Street, Preston. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a positive ventilation fan to extinguish the fire that was caused by a cardboard box left on the cooker hob. Firefighters were at the scene for twenty minutes.
