At 13:33 three fire engines from Blackburn and Darwen were called to reports of a fire in a domestic property on Greenside Avenue, Blackburn. The fire was within a downstairs living room and firefighters used four breathing appartus, one hose reel jet, triple extension ladder and positive ventilation fan to rescue one casualty. The cause of the fire is under investigation and crews were at the scene for one hour.
