At 15:12 on 20 November 2023, three fire engines from Darwen and Blackburn attended an incident on Astbury Chase, Darwen. The fire involved the roof space of a domestic property. Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel and one positive pressure ventilation unit to extinguish the fire. Crews were in attendance for approximately four hours.
