Firefighters from Preston were called to reports of a fire at a domestic property. When they arrived they found the incident involved a punctured gas pipe and cooking appliance. Two firefighters wore breathing apparatus isolated the gas and electricity supply and used a ventilation unit to make the scene safe. The occupier was advised to contact a gas repair engineer. There was one square metre of fire damage to a kitchen worktop and some light smoke damage to the property. There were no casualties.
