Firefighters from Skelmersdale and Greater Manchester FRS responded to a fire on Bankfield in Digmoor. Initial reports suggested the fire was at the rear of the property however when firefighters arrived they found the fire had spread to a nearby property. Two firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used a hose reel to extinguish the fire. One casualty received a precautionary check by paramedics and firefighters were in attendance around three hours and forty minutes. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
