At 17:16hrs on April 22nd 2020, a fire engine from Lancaster fire station was called to reports of driftwood on fire on the shore at Aldcliffe. Firefighters used one hose reel, aqualeaders and beaters to extinguish the blaze. Crews were in attendance for approximately 50 minutes.
