Date: 14/05/2018

Time: 22:35:00

Address: Beaconsfield Street, Haslingden

Incident Number: 1805004942

A fire in a single-storey disused warehouse required the resources of fire engines and crews from Haslingden, Rawtenstall, Hyndburn (pump and Aerial Ladder Platform – ALP) Burnley and Blackburn (the water tower/Stinger) in addition to a fire engine and crew from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service. Firefighters used main jets, ground monitors and the water jets mounted on ALP and Stinger to extinguish the fire. The Stinger and its crew remain on site this morning damping down the fire. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately and a joint investigation by fire and police has begun. A number of nearby residents were evacuated at the height of the fire as a precaution but there were no casualties.
