Firefighters from South Shore and St Annes dealt with a fire involving a chip pan in a top floor flat of a three-storey building. They used a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire and a portable fan unit to extract the smoke. A man had inhaled smoke and was attended to by ambulance paramedics.
