Three fire engines and crews, two from Chorley and one from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, were assigned to a fire in the kitchen of an upstairs flat on South Road, Coppull. There were no casualties. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire and a portable fan unit to extract the smoke and heat. The cause of the fire is to be established.
