Two fire engines and crews from Lancaster went to a fire in a second floor flat on Derby Road, Lancaster. The fire was in the kitchen and firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus used a hosereel jet to put the fire out. A casualty who had breathed in smoke was given oxygen therapy by firefighters at the scene and she was taken to hospital by ambulance. The cause of the fire is to be established.
