Two fire engines and crews, from Haslingden and Rawtenstall, were assigned to a fire in the ground floor kitchen of a house on Blackburn Road Haslingden. The occupant had inhaled smoke and was attended to by ambulance paramedics. Firefighters used a hosereel jet to extinguish the fire and a portable fan unit to extract smoke from the building.
