A fire in spray booth ducting at a furniture manufacturer’s premises prompted a response of six fire engines and crews (Bacup, 2 from Rawtenstall, Haslingden, Burnley, Bury) plus a Command Support vehicle and support pump and crew from Blackburn. Firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus are making progress extinguishing the fire using two hosereel jets and a thermal imaging camera to seek out hot-spots not otherwise visible. There are no casualties and firefighting continues (12.30pm).
Update at 12.54pm: steady progress is being made towards extinguishing the fire and two fire engines and crews (Burnley and Bury) have been released to return to their home stations.
